Why Shanny’s Care Navigation Was Created

Shanny’s Care Navigation grew from a simple understanding: knowing your loved one needs help and knowing how to find that help are two very different things.

Through supporting her own parents, family members and others through ageing, terminal illness and changing care needs, Shanny experienced how overwhelming it can be to organise support and make important decisions while carrying the emotional weight of caring for someone you love.

She recognised a gap between the services available and the practical help families need in the moment. Information and phone numbers can be a starting point, but someone still needs to make the calls, attend appointments, follow up concerns and help put care in place.

Sometimes help is needed before funding is arranged, after a hospital stay or when circumstances change unexpectedly. Family may live far away or be balancing work, children and responsibilities of their own.

Shanny created this service to be that trusted presence someone who listens, understands what matters and follows through. Alongside guidance and advocacy, Shanny and her team can provide practical, personal support: helping with daily care, accompanying someone to appointments, offering companionship and being there through difficult times.

Our approach looks beyond the immediate task to the person’s comfort, dignity, independence and connection to others. Whether you need help finding a way forward or someone to step in and support your loved one, we are here to walk beside you.

Shanny brings more than 20 years of professional experience supporting people through complex systems and life transitions, alongside her personal understanding as a mother, daughter, sister and family advocate.

She brings that same personal commitment to the way we work as a team. We take time to get to know each person their personality, culture, routines and the relationships that matter to them.

We value honest conversations, clear communication and doing what we say we will do. We listen without judgement, respect individual choices and help people stay involved in decisions about their lives.

Above all, we want you to feel comfortable with the people supporting you and your loved one able to ask questions, speak openly and feel confident that your concerns will be taken seriously.
